CHRISTIAN KERSTEN

Christian Kersten	Christian Kersten was born in 1964 in Kranenburg, Germany. At the age of 14 he stood up in the morning and decided he wanted to learn to play the trombone. His parents decided to make his wish come true. This was the beginning of his career on the trombone for Christian. He produced his first tones on the trombone as a member of the Wind Band of Kranenburg, at the time leaded by the conductor Zampitro. Because Zampitro deceased shortly afterwards, Christian studied trombone independently these days. In 1984 Christian obtained his certificate secondary school, after that he followed an education to become a car mechanic. After he rounded off this education successfully, Christian studied machine- and car technique, at the "Rheinische-Westfalische Technical Academy" (RWTH) in Aachen (G). During his study at the academy he lived in Kelmis, East-Belgium.
	In Kelmis (B) he found various sources where he could practice his huge affection for the trombone and wind-music. At the time he played at various orchestra's; "Wind Orchestra St.Cecilia Vaals 1836" (NL); "Cercle Musical" in Kelmis (B), and at "Symphonic Wind Orchestra St.Cécile" in Gemmenich (B). Besides he was a regular guest player at many orchestra's in East-Belgium en South-Limburg. During his student days he studied trombone at the Music-Accademy of the German-speaking community in Eupen (B), which he rounded off with a medal.
	By virtue of one's profession Christian left Kelmis after 14 years in 2001 to get a new occupation at the professional education in Kleve (G). He is returned with his family, his most beloved wife and his three children, to his place of birth Kranenburg (G) en is living there in the house of his grandfather. Nowadays Christian is playing the trombone at the "Wind Orchestra St.Cecilia Vaals 1836", and since 2003 at the "Philharmonie Gelre" in Arnhem.
	Since 2005 Christian is a member of the "Quispel Trombone Quartet".
